Interim Director of Pharmacy – Acute Care Hospital
Location: Great Falls, MT
Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy for an acute care hospital in the Great Falls, MT area. This is an immediate leadership opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist to oversee pharmacy operations across multiple practice settings while supporting an established clinical pharmacy team.
This position is ideal for a pharmacy leader with strong operational and management experience who is comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with clinical staffing in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Assignment Details
Start: ASAPDuration: 3+ MonthsSchedule: Monday–FridayHours: 8:00am–5:00pm, 40 hours per week (schedule may be flexible)On-Call: Not anticipated
Requirements
- Active Montana Pharmacist License in good standing
- Previous Director of Pharmacy, PIC, or pharmacy leadership experience required
- Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
- Sterile compounding experience required
- Meditech experience preferred (training available)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for the pharmacy department while serving as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
- Oversee pharmacy services supporting the hospital, outpatient infusion center, and hospital outpatient department
- Provide leadership for pharmacy staff while assisting with clinical staffing as needed
- Review and verify medication orders and support daily pharmacy operations
- Support sterile compounding services and ensure regulatory compliance
- Participate in departmental meetings, operational planning, and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership to optimize medication management and patient care
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and departmental policies
