Interim Director of Pharmacy – Behavioral Health Hospital

Location: Summit, NJ area

Specialty Medical Staffing is currently seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy for a behavioral health hospital in the Summit, NJ area. This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced pharmacy leader looking to support pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and clinical services within an established inpatient behavioral health setting.

We are seeking a pharmacist with leadership experience, strong operational skills, and familiarity with behavioral health pharmacy practice. This position will serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and oversee daily pharmacy operations while supporting an experienced pharmacy team.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Minimum 30 Days
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 8:00am–4:00pm plus on-call coverage after each shift
• Weekend Coverage: On-call only

Requirements

• Active New Jersey Pharmacist License in good standing
• Previous Director of Pharmacy, PIC, or pharmacy leadership experience preferred
• HCS experience required
• Behavioral health experience preferred
• Omnicell experience helpful
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
• Oversee daily pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
• Review and verify medication orders
• Manage pharmacy schedules and staffing coordination
• Participate in meetings and support departmental initiatives
• Assist with Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) data collection and reporting
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff, nursing, and hospital leadership
• Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
