The Interior Design Manager is a key creative leader within the Store Design team, responsible for shaping the interior design direction of Faherty retail stores and wholesale shop-in-shops. This role combines concept development, FF&E management, materials expertise, and creative oversight with hands-on project management. The ideal candidate is deeply connected to the design world-well-versed in emerging trends, artisans, furniture designers, makers, materials, and finishes-and brings a strong rolodex of vendors, sources, and collaborators.
This role will drive FF&E strategy and execution, maintain brand standards and archives, oversee sourcing, budgets, and inventory, and partner cross-functionally to deliver inspiring, on-brand environments aligned with Faherty's design ethos.
What you'll do:
Creative & Design Collaboration
- Translate Faherty's coast-to-mountain heritage into physical environments. Develop and elevate the interior design direction for new stores, remodels, and refresh initiatives, ensuring alignment with Faherty's brand identity.
- Source furniture, lighting, art, materials, textiles, and emerging trends-to continually evolve and enrich our design language.
- Build, maintain, and leverage a robust network of vendors, makers, artists, and craftspeople for furnishings, decorative accessories, and unique material solutions.
- Present design concepts, FF&E palettes, and visual direction to leadership and cross-functional partners with clarity and creative conviction.
FF&E Strategy & Sourcing
- Lead all FF&E sourcing, specifying, and procurement for stores: furniture, fixtures, lighting, accessories, artwork, and custom pieces.
- Ensure all selections meet brand standards for quality, durability, aesthetic cohesion, sustainability, and cost parameters.
- Oversee and refine the FF&E library including finishes, materials, lighting, furnishings, artwork, and décor.
- Develop professional FF&E presentations for internal and external audiences.
Project & Vendor Management
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and maintain consistent communication to ensure production quality, timelines, and delivery accuracy.
- Partner with the team to track, coordinate, and troubleshoot all orders, logistics, and lead times for FF&E items.
- Partner with Store Design, Construction, Visual Merchandising, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless design execution from concept to install.
Standards, Inventory & Archives
- Oversee the maintenance and continuously improve brand standard documents, material libraries, and finish palettes.
- Oversee the design archive-documenting projects with photos, notes, drawings, and lessons learned for future reference.
- Manage warehouse operations tied to FF&E including inventory, packing, deliveries, and organization.
Budget & Operational Oversight
- Develop, monitor, and manage FF&E budgets for each store project; track costs with accuracy and foresight.
- Identify cost efficiencies and value-engineering opportunities without compromising creative quality or brand integrity.
- Ensure all deliverables support on-time, on-brand, and on-budget project execution.
What you'll have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in interior design, retail environments, hospitality design, or related fields, with demonstrated project ownership.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Strong creative sensibility with a refined eye for materials, color, furniture, lighting, and styling.
