Intermediate .NET Web Developer State of Wisconsin JB-BVTEIHHL Job Overview Location: Madison, WI - Hybrid (90-100% remote) Employment Type: W2, 1099 Candidate Pay Rate: $63 USD Hourly W2/1099 Experience: 7 years, Submission Deadline 9/4/2025 About the Role This position is for an Intermediate .NET Web Developer to support and enhance existing web applications maintained within the Enterprise section of the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. The developer will work closely with the team in developing the frontend and server side of the web application. The ideal candidate will have experience with .NET framework, ASP.NET, MVC, .NET CORE, and supported programming languages. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement web-based applications using .NET framework to support business requirements. Perform development of front-end and back-end development of web applications and web API's (webservices). Follow approved life cycle methodologies, create documentation, and perform application coding and testing. Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Participate in interactive code reviews and share expertise. Required Qualifications C# and ASP.NET (MVC5 & Core8) - Proven experience building and maintaining web applications using both legacy (.NET Framework) and modern (.NET Core) platforms. .NET Core6/7/8 - Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and web applications using .NET Core. VB.NET - Ability to understand, debug, and enhance legacy codebase. .NET Framework (4.8) - Deep understanding of the .NET runtime, libraries, and configuration. Kendo UI (jQuery + MVC Wrappers)
- Experience in creating rich UI components and interaction using Kendo UI widgets. JavaScript & jQuery
- Strong proficiency in frontend scripting, DOM manipulation, AJAX calls, and event-driven UI design. SQL Server
- Experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning. Oracle & DB2
- Solid understanding of working with multiple RDBMS systems, with ability to handle data integration, migration, and cross-platform queries. 7 years of experience in .NET development Strong communication skills and ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications Web API (RESTful Service)
- Experience building and consuming web services with security and versioning in mind. Entity Framework / Dapper / ADO.NET - Knowledge of ORM tools and raw data access strategies. Front-End Integration
- Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and browser compatibility. Unit Testing
- Writing and maintaining unit tests for both front-end and back-end code. Version Control Systems
- Experience with Git.
