Job Description
Title: Intermediate Senior level Mechanical Engineer | Commercial, retail, multifamily, and healthcare markets Client : For over sixty years, our client has provided essential engineering services for many of the great public and private building projects of our time, ranging from high-rise office towers and corporate headquarters to universities and libraries, hospitals, airports, and the public sector. It is their dedication and vision coupled with their technical capabilities that bring together so many owners, architects, developers, and facilities managers, who rely upon them to help their projects succeed. Job Description: Immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer with a proven interest in building design and sound knowledge of mechanical engineering and mechanical equipment specification fundamentals. This position is located in the Philadelphia office and will support projects in PA and NJ. MUST be in-office 5 days/week . Responsibilities:
- Design and specify Mechanical equipment and systems for building maintenance and construction. This includes HVAC systems, associated ductwork, sprinklers, plumbing, boilers, furnaces.
- Perform necessary system design and load calculations throughout.
- Prepare construction documents including ductwork layout, plumbing risers, associated drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD.
- Projects are for retail, commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional markets.
- Participate in the selection and specification of all appropriate equipment.
- Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients.
- 7 - 10 years professional experience (not 20) designing HVAC and other mechanical systems for commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional projects.
- AutoCAD required; Revit desired.
- EIT desired.
- Proven experience with A/E or MEP firms.
- Strong fundamental understanding of Building Codes.
- Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
