Job Description
The Intern, Accounting will support the Accounting team in executing core accounting functions and driving process improvements. This role offers hands-on experience in accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, and cross-functional projects, including accounting automation initiatives.
We're thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in Tustin, CA. As an intern, you'll dive deep into our team culture, take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's dynamics. This temporary, 40-hour per week office position is designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to connect with professionals in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, coding, and vendor inquiries/payments
- Contribute to month-end close activities, including schedules and supporting documentation
- Assist with preparation and completion of balance sheet reconciliations
- Partner with team members on accounting projects, including process improvement and automation efforts
- Help coordinate and track project progress for accounting initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Assist in transforming existing processes into standardized operating procedures (SOPs), including documenting workflows and maintaining process documentation
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team (filing, documentation, reporting)
- Perform ad hoc analysis and support special projects as needed

Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility.
- Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located.
- Passionate about a career in the biotech industry and looking to gain valuable experience through this internship.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a temporary position operating Monday through Friday, 5x8 (5 days x 8 hours) schedule.
Internship to begin on Monday, June 15th and end on Friday, August 21st.

- Summer Project: Personalized project plan, complete with a pre-determined roadmap and week by week milestones that the intern will need to meet, ensuring clear expectations and measurable outcomes.
- Mentorship: Your manager and team will provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities.
- Weekly Check-ins and 1:1s: Conduct both on a weekly basis to ensure clear communication and support for our interns.
- Performance Assessments: Conduct mid and end of program performance assessments to be provided with constructive criticism and feedback to help you grow and succeed.

Compensation:
The compensation for this role is $20.00 per hour.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Interns may work in classified cleanroom environments (Grade C/ISO 7), requiring gowning and exposure to standard GMP conditions, mechanical equipment, noise, and occasional contact with chemicals or vibrations. The role involves a mix of sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, with essential visual acuity for close, distance, and color tasks.
