What we’re looking for: A motivated and collaborative individual to join the Transportation & Construction Services Department. You will continue to successfully serve the current and future needs of the New Braunfels community. Under general supervision, this position assists with the plan review administrative process.
The responsibilities you’ll be trusted with:

Assists the plans examiner with minor residential and commercial reviews.
Assists plan examiners in performing validation tasks to ensure customers submit the required drawings and documents.
Assists plan examiners in performing consolidation tasks.
Assists plan examiners with batch stamping of the approved drawings and documents in the electronic plan review software (Projectdoxs).
Assists plan examiners in verifying fee payment.
Assists plan examiners with moving approved drawings from Cityworks to Projectdox.
Assists plan examiners with routing resubmittals.
Assists with withdrawing duplicate permit applications.
Assists with expiring invalid permits.
Performs other assigned tasks.

Education and Experience:

Required Licenses or Certifications:
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Required Knowledge of:
Customer service standards and protocol.
Current principles and practices of a productive, customer service-oriented office.
City organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
Required Skill in:
Reading construction drawings and documents, and communicating technical requirements to architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and the public.
Responding to inquiries and providing excellent customer service.
Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with City employees and the public.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Performing accurate data entry and maintaining departmental records and files.
Utilizing personal computing devices and associated software programs.
Your work environment:
Work is performed in a standard office environment and is subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
Must be able to safely lift and carry equipment and materials up to thirty (30) pounds.
