The Zayo Summer Internship Program is designed to cultivate the next generation of telecommunications professionals. Interns will gain meaningful, hands-on experience within a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment. About the Role
Responsibilities
API Inventory & Risk Assessment
Assist in identifying and inventorying enterprise APIs.
Support security reviews to identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
Evaluate APIs against OWASP API Top 10 guidance.
Governance & Controls
Help define and validate API security policies and controls.
Review authentication and authorization implementations.
Track remediation efforts and posture improvements.
Documentation & Reporting
Document findings, risk reports, and remediation recommendations.
Support implementation of API monitoring and security tooling.
Qualifications
Required
Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
Basic understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, and JSON.
Awareness of authentication concepts (OAuth, tokens).
Interest in governance and security risk management.
Preferred
Exposure to API gateways, WAFs, or security scanning tools.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Note: Applicants must have completed their sophomore year and be enrolled in a degree or certificate seeking program for the fall semester of 2026.
Estimated base pay range for this role: $23.00-$25.00 USD/hour.
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance and 401(k).
