Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive medical care for adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, continuity of care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across clinical settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide primary and consultative medical care to adult patients
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and infectious conditions
- Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and ongoing patient assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and preventive care plans
- Provide outpatient clinic care and/or inpatient consultation services as applicable
- Coordinate care with specialists and ancillary services
- Participate in preventive care, health maintenance, and chronic disease management
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modification
- Ensure safe transitions of care and appropriate follow-up
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
- Supervise and educate residents, medical students, or advanced practice providers as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility

- Manual dexterity for examinations and procedures
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and communication
