Job Description

The Accounting Intern is a structured internship opportunity reporting directly to the Senior Accountant in our Annapolis, MD office. This role is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience within the accounting function of a privately held renewable energy company.

Throughout the internship, the Accounting Intern will gain exposure to project and asset-based accounting, support month-end close processes, and assist with various financial operations. This experience will provide insight into how accounting and financial reporting support the development and management of renewable energy projects.

The ideal candidate brings a positive, inquisitive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine eagerness to learn. Success in this role will be defined by engagement, reliability, and a willingness to take initiative while developing foundational accounting skills in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Activities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Data entry of vendor bills and creation of customer invoices in our accounting system, NetSuite
  • Support tracking of capital expenditures, construction-in-progress, and operating costs for solar system assets
  • Prepare journal entries to adjust transactions to conform with GAAP, such as prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed asset depreciation
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with the month-end close process
  • Learn the full accounting life cycle from data entry through financial reporting
  • Other ad-hoc tasks and special projects as needed

Details & Duration Of Internship:

  • Rate of Pay: $ 20/per hour.
  • Must be a current Junior or Senior working towards a Bachelor's degree
  • Internship duration: Approximately June 4th to August 27th (end date is flexible)
  • This position will report regularly in person to Annapolis, MD office.
  • Hours of work: 20-25 hours per week, subject to change
