Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting, and preserving outstanding works that illuminate the American heritage and artistic possibilities. Founded by Alice Walton in 2005, the museum opened in 2011 and is a public, non-profit charitable organization with free admission.

The Momentary is a contemporary art space that opened to the public on February 22, 2020, in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. The Momentary is a venue for the music, art, and food of our time, and a catalyst for creativity and economic vitality. Position Summary

The Internship Program & Engagement Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Crystal Bridges & Momentary internship program. This position is responsible for volunteer outreach, engagement and management of the CB/MO supported programs and events.

The Internship Program & Engagement Manager recruits and engages industry partners and coordinates student preparation and program delivery activities year-round with multiple stakeholders including industry, community, students, educators and CB/MO staff. The program manager reports directly to the Director of People Services.

Thispositionrequires an imaginative,resourceful,andcollaborativeprofessionalwho can takeinitiative andworkalongside department leaders to helpbuild, launch,andoversee Crystal Bridges and the Momentaryinternshipprogram.

Principal Responsibilities

CommunityRelationshipManagement

  • Build and maintainrelationshipswithindividuals, industries,organizations, colleges and othercommunity organizations with the primary goal of internship placement
  • Partner with the field experts / department leadership to develop relevant internship framework and curriculum
  • Works with department leaders and community partners to provide a welcoming and engaging internship experience for each intern to ensure a positive experience
  • Evaluate industry and communitysatisfactionwith internshipprogram
  • Effectivelyhandlediverseinterpersonal and inter-grouprelationships
  • Activelyparticipatein industry and communityorganizations

Internship ProgramDelivery

  • Partner directly with the local schools, colleges & universities to manage and executeallaspects of theinternshipprogram
  • Organize and implementintern orientations, workshops & culminations.
  • Maintain frequent and effective communication with interns and department leaders.
  • Develop a framework and timeline to build and launch the program.
  • Manage the planning and implementing strategic goals & operating plans for continued growth
  • Oversee daily activities and responsibilities for the intern programs.
  • Develop and conduct training for participating supervisors.

ProgramAdministration

  • Ensureinternshipprogramcomplies withallrules and procedures by law, as well as meets organizationalcompliancerequirements.
  • Oversee andmanageintern timekeeping in Workday.
  • Keepdetailedrecords and reports on the results of the intern program.
  • Collect and analyzeinternshipdataforinternal and external use.
  • Deliveraccurateandtimelydataandreports
  • Prepare reports / presentation on thecontributions of each internship cohort
  • Communicatepertinentinformation to allstakeholders in a timelyfashion by email,telephone and inperson.

Planning, DesignandBudgets

  • Responsibleforoverallprogramplan,design,delivery and evaluation
  • Develop and implementprogramimprovements.
  • Accountableforoverall plansuccessincludingevaluationandbudget process.

  • Must conduct oneselfin a highly professionalmanner, and inalignmentwithCB/MOvalues.
  • Work incollaborationwith team members withindepartment and across the organization
  • Support overall CB/MOobjectives and goals as outlined inStrategicPlan
  • Establish and maintainpositiveworkingrelationships withallstakeholdersinorder to achieve the goals of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training, and Traits

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted, as long as it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.
  • 5 - 7 years of experiencewithinternship programsinanarts-relatedinstitution ishighlydesirable
  • 5 – 7 years of experience coordinating, developing and implementing a program or initiative (ideally related to internships, job preparedness or mentoring of high school, university and/or technical school students)
  • A strong desire for supporting and empowering interns
  • Ability to understand andmaintain the highestlevelsofconfidentiality.
  • Able to quickly build rapport and foster relationships.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work proactively in a team environment, collaborating across all departments.
  • Able to interact seamlessly with all levels of the organization from volunteers to executives, including the Board of Directors
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet competing deadlines and positively adapt to change
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, both independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical demands: In the work environments described below, position requires utilizing a computer and telephone for prolonged periods of time, good eye/hand coordination, verbal and written conversation with others, lifting/carrying (up to 10 lbs.).
  • Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment and in museum spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Some overnight travel may be necessary. This position is based onsite in Bentonville, AR.
