Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
Location: 17800 Kedzie Ave, Hazel Crest, IL 60429 Department: Interventional Radiology Job Type: Contract | Crisis Rate Duration: January 26 April 25, 2026 (Extension likely based on performance)
Schedule
Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: 10-hour Day Shift (7:00 AM start)
On-Call: Required (weekend and holiday rotation as needed)

Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Technologist will support a broad range of diagnostic and interventional procedures in a high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate is confident, proactive, and experienced in assisting physicians during complex IR cases while maintaining strict sterile technique and radiation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist physicians with IR procedures including:
Thoracentesis, paracentesis
Embolization (UFE)
IVC filter placement and retrieval
Central line and PICC line placement
CT-guided biopsies and needle aspirations
Fistula and vascular access procedures
Shock wave lithotripsy
Prepare and maintain sterile fields
Operate imaging equipment and assist with fluoroscopic guidance
Ensure radiation safety compliance for patients and staff
Anticipate physician needs and communicate effectively with the care team
Document procedures accurately per department protocols
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
Active Illinois IEMA License
ARRT (CT) Active
BLS (AHA) Active
Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and radiation safety
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
RCIS and/or CBT certification (highly preferred, not required)
Experience working in high-volume or crisis IR settings
