Pay rate ranges from $82.25 to $88.13 based on experience. This job has multiple openings...Short Description:SMH Interventional Radiology Rad Techmust have Neurosurgery/neuroscience4x10hrs, Days; weekends, holidays, on call/callback per unit needscall 1-2x/week and 1-2 weekends of call/month
Complete Description:Client would prefer HCP with interventional radiology experience. For reference, the unit typically train RTs coming from other modalities for up to six months when they start in neuro IR.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning and consistentlyproduces radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problemsexpediently.
Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness and accountability whendealing with customers.
Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity for patient s rights in all interfaces withpatients.C. AREAS OF EMPHASIS
Administers oral contrast as needed per exam.
Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations and assistsRadiologist during procedures.
Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operation if all x-ray equipment, CR andDR systems.
Reports equipment malfunctions to manager or lead.
Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between proceduresto department advantage-assisting others, clerical duties, stocking, transporting, etc.
Employee understands his/her role on maintaining medication security to authorizedpersonnel only.
Demonstrates competency in providing health care services in own job category to allage groups.
Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships to all age groups.D. DOCUMENTATION/INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital information System (HIS), RadiologyInformation System (RIS) and PACS.
Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces,etc.) when warranted.
Demonstrate confidentiality using own password and all patient care modules.
Answers telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnelin other areas of the hospital while maintaining good phone etiquette.
Requirements:BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)Two (2) years experienceLicensing in the state of NY
