Interventional Radiology TechnicianLocation: Hartford, ConnecticutEmployment Type: 3 Months ContractWork Schedule: Monday – FridayShift:7:30 AM – 4:00 PMOn-Call Requirements:Every other weekend (EOW) call Rotating weekday on-call (Monday–Friday) One holiday call if it falls within the contract period Work Setting: OnsiteThe Interventional Radiology Technician assists physicians during minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing procedure rooms, operating advanced imaging equipment, positioning patients, monitoring patient safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images. The role requires experience supporting both vascular and neuro interventional procedures, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-focused care throughout all interventions.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare Interventional Radiology procedure rooms and imaging equipment. Assist physicians during vascular and neuro interventional procedures. Position patients appropriately for imaging and interventions. Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort throughout treatment. Operate fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Monitor patient condition and safety during procedures. Administer radiopharmaceuticals or contrast agents in accordance with established protocols (as applicable). Document imaging procedures and patient information accurately. Enter procedure data and imaging sequences into imaging systems. Ensure prompt submission of images and documentation. Monitor imaging quality and adjust image density or contrast when required. Organize daily procedure schedules and support emergency cases. Monitor inventory and radiographic supplies. Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions. Maintain compliance with radiation safety and infection control standards. Utilize Epic, Synapse, and StarTrack systems (training provided for StarTrack). Required QualificationsMinimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technician experience. Required experience supporting both Vascular and Neuro Interventional procedures.Current ARRT Certification. Valid Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH) License. Current BLS Certification. Experience operating fluoroscopy and interventional imaging equipment. Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles. Ability to participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday on-call rotations. Excellent communication and patient care skills. Preferred QualificationsHospital-based Interventional Radiology experience. Experience with vascular interventions. Experience with neuro interventional procedures. Experience using Epic EMR. Experience with Synapse PACS. Familiarity with StarTrack (training available). Experience with thrombectomy, embolization, angiography, and other advanced IR procedures.
