Job Description

Avera McKennan HospitalWork Shift:Primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays (United States of America)The pay range for this position is listed below. The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing specialized procedures using sterile techniques and specialized equipment.​Schedules procedures and appropriate patient preparations, prepares, positions and instructs patients and adjusts equipment for procedures.Familiar with a wide variety of diagnostic and intervention procedures and oversees/coordinates with nursing staff, scrub techs and other techs or students throughout exam. Produces satisfactory images via digital imaging or hard film and presents them satisfactorily for radiologist interpretation.Demonstrates high level of patient care skills to assist nursing staff with caring for critically ill patients.Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Radiology Department, Quality Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines and others as required. Understands human vasculature including cerebral circulation and anticipates the needs of the Physician supplies, equipment and medications as needed while maintaining a sterile environment.Demonstrates the ability to analyze data and formulate an appropriate plan of action and demonstrates critical thinking skills.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
