The main medical center, located at 6900 N. Pecos Road in North Las Vegas, is a state-of-the-art facility offering comprehensive medical, surgical, and mental health services. The Radiology Service features advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities including CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology. VASNHCS provides healthcare professionals with access to cutting-edge equipment, a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, and the opportunity to serve those who served our country.Cardiac/Vascular Interventional Technologist – Responsibilities
  • Perform cardiac catheterization, angiography, and a full range of interventional radiology procedures including stent placements, embolizations, and vascular access procedures
  • Operate and maintain specialized interventional imaging equipment including biplane fluoroscopy, C-arm, and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) systems
  • Assist interventional radiologists and cardiologists during complex invasive procedures using sterile surgical technique
  • Prepare sterile trays, catheters, contrast media, guidewires, and specialized devices; maintain sterile field throughout procedures
  • Monitor patient hemodynamic status during procedures; recognize and respond to cardiac arrhythmias and other critical changes
  • Administer contrast media and medications as directed; manage IV access and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Perform post-processing of images using PACS and specialized workstations; ensure proper archival and availability for interpretation
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergent interventional procedures
  • Practice radiation safety, adhere to ALARA principles, and participate in quality assurance activities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot interventional suite equipment; coordinate with biomedical engineering for repairs
Cardiac/Vascular Interventional Technologist – Qualifications
  • Current ARRT registration in Radiography (R); additional certification in Cardiac Interventional (CI) and/or Vascular Interventional (VI) required
  • Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac catheterization lab and/or interventional radiology
  • Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring, sterile surgical technique, and interventional equipment
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, vascular anatomy, and interventional procedural protocols
  • VA or federal healthcare experience preferred but not required
ScheduleMonday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
