Job Description

Starkey Hearing is adding a Inventory Specialist II at it's Plainfield, Indiana distribution center. This position is responsible for keeping track of the goods and supplies of the GDC. They are responsible for cycle counting, identifying product accuracy, and providing assistance to Coordinator and Team Lead. They monitor and track shipments, check stocks of items, and conduct data entry. They are responsible for ensuring inventory transactions are correctly completed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Cycle counting of inventory (parts/supplies)
  • Ensuring inventory is properly stocked and organized
  • Bag product to simplify order picking
  • Identifying the accuracy of hearing aid components (by color, part number, quantity)
  • Cross train to receive and unpack incoming shipments of merchandise
  • Train Level I in Inventory duties.
  • Operate Perfect Pick machine (pulling product, restocking product, and cycle counts)
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent desired.
  • 1-2 years in an inventory role desired.
  • Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills are desired.
  • Minimum of 6 months in Level I position desired (or equivalent experience)

Knowledge / Technical Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) desired.
  • Basic math knowledge required.
  • Basic Microsoft office knowledge desired.
  • Customer and personal service.

Competencies, Skills & Abilities

  • Good communication and interpersonal/people skills required.
  • Good organizational skills required.
  • Good attention to detail required.
  • Analysis skills required.
  • Data entry skills required.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Context

Working Conditions

  • Standard office and warehouse conditions
  • Regular attendance and responsiveness to reasonable job-related directives as given by the supervisor.
  • Noise and heat from machines and tape guns in work area.
  • Stand and move around throughout the day.

Equipment Operation

  • Normal office and warehouse equipment; scan and copier machine, mobile carts, tape guns, cutters, step ladder, pallet jack, label printers, scanners, scales, carrier shipping system and shrink wrap.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The target rate for this position is between $17.03 to $22.05 year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
