Job Description

Position Summary:  The Materials and Inventory Control Specialist works with the Distribution Center operations to maximize space and resource usage, ensure accurate production reporting, and provide necessary training where required. This position acts as an interface between Operations and other departments in correcting system input or data errors. This position also develops necessary job instructions and flowcharts to meet operational requirements as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Identify storage and performance inefficiencies within the warehouse. Work alongside warehouse leadership team to implement solutions.
  • Set up Parts and manage part obsolescence and removal (QAD and customer systems)
  • Develop, monitor, and audit the Production Reporting Reconciliation Process for Transfers, Barcodes, Scrap and Work Center accuracy
  • Confirm QAD accuracy in capturing and transferring production information
  • QAD long range forecast control (family forecasting)
  • Investigate suspect transactions and assist in resolving issues through feedback, training, reports or procedures
  • Interface with Production, Information Technology, and Finance to identify areas for reporting accuracy improvement
  • Develop Procedures and Work Instructions to improve and standardize production and supporting processes. Examples include barcode, scrap, shipping etc.
  • Coordinate and direct Physical Inventory Resources for all the Fabrication In-Line (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) areas
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned, including, but not limited to, OEE and Capacity studies
  • Coordinate and perform part audits or cycle counts between inventories
  • Troubleshoot QAD/Eagle/Ford systems
  • Resolve customer issues/complaints/PRs, including mis-picks, mis-ships, and shortages/overages.
