Position SummaryThe Inventory Control Lead maintains accurate inventory levels across the warehouse. This role is responsible for cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, returns processing, and inventory movement tracking to ensure operational accuracy and service levels. The Inventory Control Lead also plays a key role in training warehouse staff, supporting process improvements, and ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures and company standards.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:•Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.•Conduct a minimum of 75 cycle counts and 50 bin/location verifications per week.•Verify that all materials are accurately labeled and stored in the correct warehouse locations.•Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including missing or mislocated materials.•Assist the warehouse managers to process and close out RMA’s in a timely manner. Transfer material between warehouse and scrap warehouses as needed. Facilitate the processing and movement of RMA’s.•Create and manage necessary reporting and filing procedures in order to better manage scrap, obsolete and return to mill materials.•Determine and inspect material to be returned to the mills and coordinate with the Purchasing Manager and department. Document and report the process from first contact with the mill representative until a credit is received and processed.•Monitor, report and record the movement of all scrap, returned and damaged materials. Oversee and maintain the scrap warehouses for item accuracy and bin location.•Work with the Sales Department to obtain all required information to process freight claims. Contact the freight company and follow through until a claim is closed.•Support receiving operations and serve as backup for receiving/inventory clerk duties as needed.•Assist ICM and Operations Manager in preparation and running of annual physical inventory at all of EMS facilities.•Assist in the coaching and training of warehouse personnel in all inventory functions including bin systems, scanner guns and inventory movement and management.•Travel to other warehouse locations as required to support inventory control activities.•Promote and maintain safe working conditions and proper warehouse housekeeping standards.•Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education•High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience/Skills/Abilities Required•Minimum of 2 years of warehouse or inventory control experience•Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation required•Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems preferred•Strong attention to detail and accuracy•Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory systems, scanners)•Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies•Strong organizational and time management skills•Ability to train and support team members•Strong communication and teamwork skills•Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentWork Environment/Physical DemandsOffice, warehouse, truck yard – moderate to loud noise level. This position regularly requires standing; walking; sitting; use hands; reaching with hands and arms; and talking and/or hearing. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
