Job Description
Position SummaryThe Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing accurate inventory of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports production continuity by ensuring material availability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and improving inventory processes.Key Responsibilities
Track raw materials, WIP, and finished goodsMaintain accurate inventory in an ERP/MRP systemPerform cycle counts and resolve discrepanciesEnsure materials are available and properly stagedSupport kitting of jobs and projectsCoordinate with production leads to meet schedule requirementsSupport Kanban and pull systemsApply 5S and lean manufacturing practicesImprove inventory workflows and storage methodsAssist with shipping, documentation, and inventory updatesAll other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired
2+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong understanding of inventory processes, cycle counting, and material flowExperience with ERP/MRP or inventory systemsStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work on the production floor
Preferred
Experience in welding, fabrication, or machining environmentsFamiliarity with metals or steel materialsKnowledge of material traceabilityForklift certification (or willingness to obtain)Experience in a small, hands-on production environment
