Job Description

SUMMARY:

Directs and coordinates activities, with minimal supervision, of personnel engaged in the production control, stockroom,

receiving, and inventory activities. Responsible for designing and executing strategies that are tied to specific action

plans, which allow production control to satisfy customer expectations and meet the company's financial expectations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Directly responsible for production control, stockroom, receiving and inventory staff
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to:

o The Job Order release process, including the generation of labels and Job Order paperwork in an

accurate and timely manner

o Closing Job Orders, including the review of completed Job Orders for accuracy of material consumption

and cost

o Kitting of material for production departments, including but not limited to Paint, Weld, and Assembly

o Receiving purchased and transferred material

o Cycle counting

o Organization of the stockroom

  • Maintain surveillance over stockroom inventory to assure good asset management (cycle counting) and sufficient

inventory to satisfy company production and sales effort

  • Studies work flow and sequence of operations in the department and recommends process improvements
  • Writes and implements standard work instructions for the department, trains all personnel and monitors for

effectiveness

  • Maintain positive relationships with all executive staff, managers, supervisors, and employees
  • Understand and support all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to all company policy and procedures
  • Follow safe manufacturing practices and promotes a safety culture
  • Conducts 30/60/90 day and annual performance reviews as applicable
  • Lead by example and acts in a professional manner at all times
  • Suggest ideas for continual improvements
  • Other duties as assigned or requested

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree Preferred
  • 4-5 years of related production leadership experience - metal fabrication concepts and processes exposure a

plus

  • Ability to effectively communicate through written and oral communication
  • Broad knowledge of kitting, receiving, stockroom and production control functions and concepts
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing and interactions with diverse groups of

people

  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC software (MS Office, Spreadsheets, Crystal Reports) and ERP systems
  • Demonstrates competencies in delegation, leadership managing people and staff development
  • Detail oriented with solid analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid decision-making skills
