Job Title: Inventory Cycle Counter
What do you get to do in this position?
The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels through daily cycle counts, root-cause analysis, and reconciliation of product variances. This role ensures the integrity of inventory data and supports efficient warehouse operations by identifying discrepancies, investigating issues, and partnering with Operations to improve inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Counts & Reconciliation
- Perform daily cycle counts based on established schedules and inventory control programs.
- Research and reconcile inventory variances, including overages, shortages, and mis-slotting.
- Validate inventory accuracy during receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
- Conduct location audits to ensure proper labeling, product placement, and count accuracy.
Reporting
- Record count results, adjustments, and findings using WMS (Warehouse Management System) tools.
- Analyze trends in inventory variances and recommend corrective actions to reduce recurring issues.
- Prepare and distribute reports regarding inventory accuracy, shrink, and count completion metrics.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Assist in identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies and partner with supervisors to implement process improvements.
- Support annual physical inventory and other large-scale audit events.
- Ensure all inventory activities follow company SOPs, safety standards, and quality guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 2 years of experience in warehousing, inventory control, or related operations role.
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use RF scanners, inventory systems, and basic computer applications (Excel, WMS screens, etc.).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
Preferred
- Experience with warehouse management systems (e.g., Manhattan, SAP, Blue Yonder, etc.).
- Prior cycle counting or inventory auditing experience.
Working Conditions
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and equipment use (pallet jack, carts, RF devices).
- Schedule may require flexibility, including weekends or overtime during inventory events.
