Description:
The Inventory Exceptions Lead will proactively manage customer delivery exceptions with a strong sense of urgency and high level of accuracy. This role is responsible for identifying inventory discrepancies for both pre- and post-delivery that could negatively impact the customer's experience. This includes coordinating with third-party logistics (3PL) providers across the country to ensure inventory accuracy and readiness for order fulfillment, as well as managing reverse logistics as needed. The objective is to protect delivery performance and maintain a consistently positive customer experience. The Inventory Exceptions Lead will also play a key role in reviewing and understanding multi-system transactions throughout the full lifecycle of an order. This position requires close cross-functional collaboration to investigate and resolve variances that impact customer account accuracy and on-hand inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem-solving judgement, advanced analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. The Inventory Exceptions Lead will work out of the Arhaus Boston Heights Corporate Campus main building and will Become the Greatest Supply Chain Team in Retail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees, monitors, and coordinates all inventory exception activities to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Monitor, follow up on, and audit daily, weekly, and monthly activities to ensure accuracy, completion and compliance.
- Partner closely with the Inventory Exception and Order Resolution Manager to balance departmental workload and establish daily priorities aligned to team and company objectives.
- Drive process improvement by maintaining daily, transparent communication to enhance productivity and streamline inventory flow.
- Review and resolve order and inventory exceptions by creating RAs for 3PL providers, resolve reported OS&D issues (over, short, damaged) and ensure ERP accuracy.
- Ensure returns, exchanges and exception-related inventory are processed accurately to support seamless reverse logistics flows back to points of origin or clearance outlets.
- Provide leadership and oversight for Salesforce cases from internal and external partners, with a strong focus on customer sales orders.
- Audit and monitor the Salesforce ticketing system to ensure specialists review and act promptly on logistics request tickets from internal teams and external business partners
- Support cross-functional business teams within and outside of Arhaus Supply Chain on scheduled and ad hoc initiatives.
- Continuously identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, driving accuracy and efficiency gains within the role and across functions
- Maintain a strong understanding of ERP, WMS, and related logistics and order management systems to effectively monitor inventory movement and downstream customer impact.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures while serving as a role model for professional standards and accountability.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma; College degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive improved business performance through effective leadership and influence.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional discussions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams) and inventory management tools.
- Minimum of one year inventory control experience, including exposure to cycle counting, WMS and ERP System, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and sales order
- processing.
- Working knowledge of logistics and warehousing operations, including order processing, picking, shipping, delivery and return processes.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently and as part of the team.
- Flexible and dedicated to business needs, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience in public company environments and familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., SOX) is strongly preferred.
