Job Description

Job Summary:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all inventory operations across one or more locations using NetSuite ERP. This role ensures inventory accuracy, availability, valuation integrity, and compliance while driving process improvements and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on NetSuite expert with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of inventory controls, costing, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Control & Accuracy:
  • Maintain accurate item masters, bin locations, lot/serial records, and stock levels in NetSuite.
  • Own cycle count programs, physical inventories, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Investigate root causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and improve inventory KPIs including accuracy, turnover, shrinkage, and aging.
  • Establish and enforce inventory control policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
NetSuite System Management & Reporting:
  • Serve as the NetSuite Inventory subject-matter expert.
  • Execute and oversee inventory transactions including:
  • Purchase orders, item receipts, transfers, adjustments, and returns.
  • Configure and manage NetSuite inventory capabilities:
  • Multi-location and bin management.
  • Lot and serial tracking.
  • Demand planning and replenishment.
  • Inventory costing methods (FIFO, Average, Standard).
  • Develop dashboards, saved searches, and reports for operational and financial visibility.
  • Partner with IT and Finance on NetSuite enhancements, integrations, and upgrades.
Process Optimization & Cost Control:
  • Develop and implement best practices for inventory workflows and controls.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and waste reduction.
  • Analyze inventory levels to balance service levels with carrying costs.
  • Drive excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory reduction strategies.
  • Support forecasting, demand planning, and procurement alignment.
Compliance, Audit & Financial Support:
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial policies.
  • Support inventory valuation, reserves, and audit preparation.
  • Deliver accurate, timely inventory costing and reconciliation reports.
  • Maintain strong alignment with Finance on period close activities.
Team Collaboration & Training:
  • Train and support team members on NetSuite inventory processes and best practices.
  • Act as escalation point for inventory system issues and process questions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Repair, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Finance.
  • Support multi-site inventory operations as applicable.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years in inventory management;  1+ year NetSuite ERP experience (inventory modules required).
  • Strong understanding of inventory controls, cycle counting, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with inventory costing and valuation.
  • Advanced Excel skills (analysis, pivot tables, lookups).
Preferred:
  • Experience in depot repair, reverse logistics, or distribution environments.
  • NetSuite certifications or advanced configuration experience.
  • Experience with serialized, lot-controlled, or regulated inventory.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement background.
  • Multi-location or multi-warehouse inventory experience.
