Execute the inventory optimization program, ensure transactional discipline, inventory accuracy across the manufacturing footprint, and workplace organization best practices in the areas we store inventory. Additionally, the role will drive accountability through root cause analysis and putting fixes in place so we don't encounter the same issues repeatedly. This position is responsible for inventory management, providing direction to the team, accuracy of inventory transactions, inventory accuracy, and organization of the warehouses inside and outside of the plants.
Effectively deploy inventory policies across the Pipeline Optimization organization (Western Hemisphere)
Review all inventory policies and collaborate with key stakeholders to modify/create new policies as needed to achieve inventory targets
Establish a routine of reviewing E&O inventory at regular intervals
Ensure that the parameters in the MRP/ERP system are correct
Communicate clearly on the impacts to the balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L)
Effectively manage the inventory lifecycle
Ensure inventory accuracy of 97% or better on routine cycle counts and half/full year inventory counts
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and/or Production to ensure all Bills of Material (BOMs) and routes are properly setup in our ERP system
Work with stakeholders to include Product Management, Finance/Accounting, and Manufacturing/Services to standardize the way we classify inventory
Transform and standardize the inventory locations to be world class
Work with plant and service center leaders to align on what world class looks like for inventory storage locations
Establish the audit system with the buy-in of each location's leadership
Establish and clearly communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) at regular intervals (at least monthly)
Conduct audits of the storage locations and communicate feedback to the plant leadership team at each manufacturing site
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Analytical and strong financial background are preferred
Strategic thinker - manages more than the day-to-day to identify and solve systemic problems
Leads and influences - coach teams on analytics-driven decision making, communicate clear vision for inventory excellence, build creditability with stakeholders through practical results, champion a data-driven culture without losing trust
Systems thinker - see inventory as part of an integrated system, anticipate downstream impacts of decisions, optimize inventory at the enterprise level
Resourcefulness - uses creativity to find solutions, operates with resilience and can adjust strategies during downturns, supply shocks or rapid growth
Previous experience in manufacturing or services environment required
B.S. in business or equivalent experience
