Job Description

Company:

David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Our first product is a protein bar. More broadly, David is a platform to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable.

This is a compelling opportunity to be a part of an exciting new food brand as we enter a critical growth stage. David is led by CEO Peter Rahal, the Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR.  We have strong aspirations to become the most popular high-protein bar in North America and beyond.

Role & Responsibilities:

As an Inventory Analyst at David, you will be responsible for building models, developing inventory plans, and making day-to-day decisions that keep our products in stock and our inventory balanced across the business.

You will own key aspects of inventory strategy, spanning retail customers, internal supply planning, manufacturing, 3PL partners, and sales channels. You will analyze large, complex data sets to uncover risks and opportunities, translate insights into clear recommendations, and influence decisions around replenishment, production timing, and channel allocation.

This role regularly presents to senior leadership on inventory performance, key initiatives, tradeoffs, and strategic recommendations, supported by clear metrics, scenarios, and action plans.

In this role you will:

  • Analyze and interpret large, complex inventory, retail, and customer data sets to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Build, maintain, and own inventory and demand models that surface constraints across manufacturing, 3PLs, distribution, and retail fulfillment networks before they impact sales
  • Investigate fluctuations in inventory position, demand pacing, and ordering patterns
  • Translate demand, supply, and commercial inputs into actionable inventory plans, including production timing, replenishment cadence, and channel allocation
  • Collaborate with Retail, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Leadership teams to develop strategic inventory recommendations that support growth while minimizing stockouts
  • Partner directly with retail customers and external fulfillment partners to influence ordering behavior, improve instock rates, and unlock incremental revenue
  • Present inventory performance, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership using clear metrics, scenarios, and decision frameworks

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high intensity work environment (investing, consulting, strategy, business operations, or early-stage startups)
  • Preferred: experience in CPG, Retail, or Inventory Operations
  • Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Comfortable speaking directly with fulfillment and warehousing partners
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean environment with high standards
  • Proficient in and familiar with creating, maintaining, and improving data models in Excel
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and switching between high-level thinking and hands-on work
  • Self-starting attitude with a love for executing on ideas and moving quickly
  • High IQ/intellectual horsepower
  • Low ego, high self-awareness, and eagerness to learn
  • Desire to help build an early-stage CPG company with a mission to create tools to increase muscle and decrease fat
