Job Description
A manufacturer of components and devices for military use is looking to hire an Inventory Specialist. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting all stockroom, inventory control, and elastomer material preparation activities. This role ensures accurate receiving, storage, inventory management, and issuing of materials, including weighing and preparing elastomers and chemicals, while maintaining compliance with production requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures. Hours are 1st shift with OT potential on Saturdays. Salary depends on experience. $18.00 - $20.00 for entry-level, $21.00 - $23.00 for mid-level (must have forklift training), and up to $28.00 for very experienced. Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against documentation for accuracy and quality.
- Unpack, label, and store materials in designated warehouse and stockroom locations.
- Determine appropriate storage locations and maintain efficient space utilization.
- Pick, kit, weigh, and prepare materials (including elastomers and chemicals) per job order specifications and routing.
- Perform accurate unit conversions and ratio calculations for material preparation.
- Issue materials to production and ensure timely delivery to internal departments.
- Process all ERP transactions (e.G., receipts, issues, transfers, lot traceability, and cycle counts).
- Maintain accurate inventory records and supporting documentation.
- Organize and maintain stockroom and elastomer cold room (approx. 50 F) in a clean, safe, and FOD-free condition.
- Perform daily cycle counts; investigate discrepancies and support corrective actions.
- Verify picked and issued materials for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle returns and support reverse logistics processes.
- Operate weighing scales, measuring devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Perform product quality spot checks as required.
- Support receiving and other warehouse operations as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas.
- Train and support team members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and customer requirements.
