Job Description
Join the KENT WORLDWIDE's Pet Plant team as an Inventory Technician and play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly. This position partners closely with fellow Pet Plant team members to ensure accurate inventory control and seamless material flow throughout the facility. You’ll be handsâon in receiving, transferring, storing, and managing inventory, helping ensure uninterrupted plant operations and product availability.
Beyond logistics, this role is a key point of contact for employees, vendors, and contractors, delivering friendly, professional customer service to everyone who enters the Pet Plant. - This role is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, IA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of the stockroom.
- Receive, unload, and shelve supplies.
- Perform other stock-related duties, including returning, packing, pricing, and labeling supplies.
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies; report those to Accounting for reimbursements and record keeping.
- Rotate stock and coordinate the disposal of surpluses.
- Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control.
- Purchasing items as inventory/stock runs low to ensure proper levels on items are kept on hand.
- Coordinate the handling of freight and the movement of equipment.
- Regularly assist in general housekeeping activity in all areas of the storeroom
- Makes local facility deliveries as requested by supervisor
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and willingness to acquire and maintain forklift certification.
- Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment
- Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management
- Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time.
- Skills to operate common office equipment.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- 2+ years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping
- Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management
- Ability to safely and legally operate a forklift
TRAVEL EXPECTED:
- Minimal – occasional travel between facilities within Muscatine
