Irst Software Test Engineer / Embedded / C++ / Orlando, FL

One of Lockheed Martin's premier programs Infrared Search and Track (IRST) program is looking for a Software Test Engineer to support production testing as well as software debugging and code updates. IRST detects and tracks objects that emit electromagnetic radiation - or infrared signatures. More simply put, it's a type of sensor system that can detect and track threats at long ranges. What makes it unique is its "passive" nature - meaning it can act without emitting any radiation of its own. We call it a "see first, strike first" sensor system because it enables aircrews to target threats, or adversaries, before those adversaries see (or sense) them.

This position is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, code and unit test, and hardware/software integration and verification. The individual will develop embedded software in C++ and embedded operating system in an Agile environment using JIRA, Git and Confluence. The individual will need to apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the development lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Software Test Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Develop Embedded Software
• Perform hardware testing and requirement verification
• Conduct, and coordinate software test activities
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Correct program errors, prepares operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Basic Qualifications:

• Technology: Embedded Software

• Must have interim Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Must be a US citizen

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
