Job Description

ROLEWe are seeking an IT Equipment and System Administration Support Specialist to support the 99th Civil Engineer Squadron (99 CES) at Nellis Air Force Base (AFB) in Las Vegas, NV.   • Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet)
  • Tactical Local Area Network Encryption (TACLANE) devices supporting SIPR enclaves
  • ServiceNow and Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS) ticketing/work orders
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Video Teleconference (VTC) and Secure Video Teleconference (SVTC) systems
RESPONSIBILITIESI. Information Technology Support
  • Provide day-to-day system administration support for NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments
  • Install, configure, and maintain end-user devices to Air Force Network Operations Center (AFNOC) standards
  • Troubleshoot peripherals and wired and wireless connectivity including patching panels to network switches
  • Apply security updates to meet Dept of Defense (DoD), Dept of the Air Force (DAF), and local requirements
  • Serve as the unit’s Management Internal Control Toolkit (MICT) assessor and update inputs quarterly or as directed
  • Follow 99 CS information assurance standard operating procedures and support annual inspections
II. Equipment Management Support
  • Manage 99 CES IT equipment from receipt through final disposition as the Information Technology Asset Manager (ITAM)
  • Configure, integrate, and sustain equipment for operational use, readiness, and lifecycle support
  • Label and track accountable IT equipment and keep records current when items are issued, moved, or turned in
  • Coordinate decommissioning and turn-in actions including required drive sanitization or destruction
  • Conduct annual and directed inventories and inspections, verifying markings, labels, decals, and classification
  • Track assets by building, room, and by temporary or permanent location, and control ITAM storage for unassigned items
  • Document and add found CES-owned assets to the accountable inventory and maintain required property records
  • File required inventories and appointment letters, and update appointment letters as needed
  • Complete annual inventory verification and complete out-of-cycle actions as requested
  • Advise leadership on refresh and replacement needs and provide annual procurement inputs
III. User Support
  • Manage user access and permissions based on approved requests for shared resources and messaging groups
  • Maintain authorized network data structures and shared storage arrangements
  • Install and maintain approved software across CES IT assets and verify approval before installation
  • Verify installed software annually and complete out-of-cycle checks as requested
IV. Operational Support
  • Maintain TACLANE devices supporting SIPR enclaves, including swap-outs, labeling, and accountability actions
  • Conduct TACLANE inventory checks as directed and coordinate repairs, warranty actions, and required documentation
  • Notify SIPR monitors, support software update compliance, and maintain CES-IT SIPR enclaves
  • Research and recommend software for Government purchase and maintain CES-required software to AFNOC and DAF requirements
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot VTC and SVTC equipment and complete annual inventories
  • Complete out-of-cycle VTC and SVTC inventory actions as requested
  • Administer the CES SharePoint site and sub-pages, including permissions, troubleshooting and quarterly unit reviews
  • Attend meetings requiring CES-IT presence and provide subject matter expert support as needed
  • Submit and track work orders and trouble tickets with the 99th Communications Squadron (99 CS) using ServiceNow, CIPS, and other Government tools
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of U.S. Air Force (USAF) computer programs and policies preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • At least 3 years of practical IT experience or related field
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
  • CompTIA Security+ (Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II compliant per DoD Manual 8140.03)
EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree preferred

  • U.S. citizenship is required as it supports the U.S. federal government
  • Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain interim access with Government approval)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
