The IT Project Analyst is responsible for supporting the technology lifecycle plan across systems, platforms, and infrastructure-tracking End of Support (EOS) dates, driving remediation plans before risk materializes, and ensuring compliance with lifecycle standards and governance. This includes technology assessment and cross team coordination to keep technology current, secure, and aligned to enterprise policies and the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Application Teams: Engage with application owners and technical teams to assess current-state environments and determine upgrade or migration requirements for operating systems and databases.
  • Plan and Coordinate Upgrades:

o Collaborate with platform/product owners, application, operations, and engineering teams to sequence upgrades and minimize disruptions.

o Create remediation roadmaps to define the appropriate upgrade approach, ownership, scope, and timeline for each application.

  • Execute Against Plans: Using the remediation roadmap, execution of activities ensuring progress aligns with the documented approach.
  • Risk, Issue & Decision Management: Document risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Work with teams - including infrastructure, security, database, and application technical managers - to identify and assist in removing any roadblocks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Communication & Reporting: Provide regular status updates, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and alignment across business and technical groups.
  • Support Standards & Compliance: Ensure actions adhere to technology lifecycle management standards, procedures, and controls. Escalate risks and non-compliance properly.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability, including diagnosing issues, evaluating alternatives, and recommending effective solutions.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into manageable components and develop clear action plans.
  • Skilled at assessing risks, anticipating obstacles, and proposing mitigation strategies proactively.
  • Able to interpret data, metrics, and qualitative insights to make informed decisions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and applying structured thinking to resolve unclear or incomplete situations.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, balancing technical, operational, and business considerations.
  • Ability to evaluate multiple viewpoints, think objectively, and challenge assumptions when appropriate.
  • Creative and innovative mindset for identifying improvement opportunities across processes, workflows, or systems.
  • Monitor and drive activities for existing planned upgrades to ensure engineering and application teams are meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.

The teammate that is hired for this position will be required to work in the office daily in one of the following locations. (Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, Richmond VA or Wilson, NC.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participate with peer groups to identify, document, and communicate project needs.

  2. Work closely with project stakeholders to understand project processes and strategies. Ensure all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities.

  3. Establish project requirements using business process and workflow analysis.

  4. Plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and/or technical requirements.

  5. Participate in or facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs.

  6. Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications, and functions.

  7. Request infrastructure diagrams in accordance with business process and workflow.

  8. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business process owners and other stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing of a solution that meets the business requirements.

  9. Attend project status meetings and provide regular updates to the project teams through regular presentations, status reports, and meeting minutes.

  10. Develop understanding of core systems, applications, and technical platforms.

  11. Observe strict adherence to all Technology and Truist policies and standards (e.g., Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Management, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business or IT, or equivalent education and related training

  2. Four years of professional consulting, project analyst, or relevant industry experience, with three years of specializing in systems implementations, merger integration, business transformation, and change management

  3. Strong analytical skills; excellent fact-gathering and business process mapping

  4. Self-starter, highly motivated, change agent Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration and leadership skills

  5. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
