Job Description
Position Overview:
The IT Technician I serves as a critical facilitator of the organization's digital infrastructure and technical support systems. Under the strategic direction of the IT Manager, this role is responsible for the administration of the IT help desk and the maintenance of the physical network. The IT Technician ensures operational continuity by deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise software, telecommunications systems, and web-based platforms, including sensitive patient health information.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the IT help desk and telephone advisory services, providing timely technical support and acting as the primary liaison between staff and external hardware/software vendors.
- Perform all duties in strict alignment with Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Meaningful Use (MU), and ECFH Code of Ethics guidelines using certified EHR systems.
- Analyze system operations and performance indicators to modify software or hardware configurations, ensuring all automated services meet organizational goals and user needs.
- Protect organizational integrity by implementing information security measures and maintaining absolute confidentiality of sensitive employee, patient, and financial data.
- Develop and participate in internal evaluation programs to monitor the quality and efficiency of data-dependent operations and clinical services.
- Provide direction for the implementation and monitoring of assigned technical activities, ensuring operations remain cost-effective and compliant with regulations.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in PC hardware and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) while maintaining clear, professional oral and written communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience in information systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Windows and Microsoft Networks.
- Experience in Health Information Technology or related field.
- Associate's degree in computer science, business administration, financial management or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to balance, bend, lift, carry, and pull up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, typically longer than four hours.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, or as needed.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hands and fingers for feeling, grasping, and operating office equipment.
- Adequate hearing ability for communication and monitoring office environments.
- Good vision for reading documents, operating office equipment, and observing surroundings.
- Capability to stoop, crouch, crawl, or kneel as necessary for office tasks.
- Ability to talk clearly and effectively for communication.
- Ability to walk and move around the office environment.
- This position involves possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials.
