Location: Herbert J. Hoelter Vocational Training Center (HJH/VTC)

Reports To: Program Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Help Skilled Graduates Turn Training Into Careers

NCIA is seeking a driven and mission-focused Job Developer / Employment Specialist to support graduates of our vocational training programs as they transition into meaningful employment.

In this role, you won't just place candidates-you'll serve as the bridge between skilled trade school graduates and employers who need their talent, helping individuals turn hands-on training into long-term career success.

What You'll Do

Support Trade Program Graduates

  • Work directly with graduates of vocational and trade programs to prepare them for the workforce
  • Provide coaching on resumes, interviews, and employer expectations specific to skilled trades
  • Help individuals translate technical training into marketable skills
  • Equip graduates with strategies for long-term job retention and career advancement

Connect Skilled Talent to Employers

  • Develop job opportunities aligned with trade certifications and hands-on training (e.g., CDL, HVAC, etc.)
  • Match graduates with employers seeking reliable, job-ready skilled workers
  • Proactively identify and pursue job leads in high-demand trade industries
  • Support graduates through the hiring process and early employment transition

Build Industry Partnerships

  • Establish relationships with employers in skilled trades and vocational industries
  • Promote NCIA graduates as a dependable pipeline of trained, entry- and mid-level talent
  • Collaborate with employers to understand workforce needs and align training outcomes
  • Expand partnerships to create career pathways and advancement opportunities

Lead Hiring Events & Workforce Connections

  • Coordinate hiring events focused on trade occupations
  • Represent NCIA in the community, building visibility with industry partners
  • Facilitate connections between employers and graduates through job fairs and networking opportunities

Drive Measurable Outcomes

  • Track job placement, retention, and career progression of trade program graduates
  • Meet or exceed placement goals and workforce development benchmarks
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with program standards
