Job Description

Job Description:

As a privately-owned, biopharmaceutical company, Ferring pioneers and delivers life-changing therapies that help people build families and live better lives. Our culture is focused on cultivating an entrepreneurial spirit and long-term perspective that enables us to achieve growth and scale, while remaining agile and true to our 'people first' philosophy. Role overview:

At Ferring we are on a mission to bring forward innovation in the treatment of radicular leg pain due to lumbar disc herniation. We are building a team of individuals to launch a biologic product that, if approved, would be a novel, only-in-class intradiscal therapy for the treatment of radicular leg pain caused by lumbar disc herniation.

Ferring is a place where you can do your best work and where you are empowered to share innovative ideas, maximize your growth potential, work collaboratively, and know your voice is heard and opinions are valued.

Who We're Looking For:

Scientific Leader in Spine Care- You are deeply passionate about advancing patient outcomes in lumbar disc herniation and spine-related disorders. You bring strong scientific curiosity and clinical insight to your work and thrive in peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange with spine specialists.

Strategic Medical Partner- You understand the critical role Medical Affairs plays across pre‑launch, launch, and post‑launch phases. You collaborate effectively with internal partners while maintaining independence, compliance, and scientific integrity in the field.

Field-Based Medical Expert- You are motivated by impact. Whether supporting evidence generation, educating healthcare professionals on emerging non‑surgical spine interventions, or gathering field insights to shape medical strategy, you are committed to scientific excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to unsolicited requests with accurate, balanced, and timely scientific information regarding Ferring's interventional spine therapy, lumbar disc herniation, and non‑surgical spine interventions

  • Establish and maintain scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, academic centers, and community‑based spine specialists

  • Support pre‑launch activities, including KOL identification and mapping, early scientific engagement and disease‑state education, field insights gathering to inform medical strategy and unmet needs

  • Support launch execution, including engagement of early adopters and centers of excellence, scientific exchange on clinical data, patient selection, and real‑world use considerations, identification and communication of adoption barriers and field insights

  • Identify and support Investigator‑Initiated Studies (IIS) and Phase IV/post‑marketing research

  • Provide scientific support for clinical trial awareness, site identification, and study execution

  • Deliver field‑based medical education on disease state, treatment landscape, and evolving standards of care

  • Provide compliant, non‑promotional scientific training and ongoing support for commercial teams

  • Monitor and communicate competitive intelligence, treatment trends, and emerging spine clinical data

  • Participate in advisory boards, speaker trainings, investigator meetings, and major scientific congresses

  • Assist in development of medical materials, slide decks, and scientific resources

  • Support processing of medical education grant requests and systematic field insights collection

  • Ensure timely documentation and reporting of adverse events and product complaints

  • Maintain current knowledge of spine care pathways, interventional techniques, and clinical practice evolution

Requirements:

  • Advanced doctoral degree required (M.D., D.O., Pharm.D., Ph.D.)
