Help Build a Growing Generator Division

JS Russell Electric is a growing, family-owned electrical contracting company serving Omaha, Nebraska, and surrounding communities. We specialize in residential and commercial electrical service work, including standby generators, EV chargers, lighting, panel upgrades, troubleshooting, and repairs. As we continue to expand, we are building our generator division and looking for the right people to grow with us.

We are seeking a Journeyman Generator Technician to install, service, and support residential standby generator systems. This role is ideal for someone with generator experience who understands residential electrical services and wants to help grow a specialized division. Generac or air-cooled generator certification is strongly preferred, but we are open to experienced candidates who are willing to pursue certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and service residential standby generators
• Safely disconnect, install, and replace outside electrical services
• Perform generator-related electrical work in residential settings
• Troubleshoot generator and electrical service issues
• Communicate with customers regarding work performed and recommendations
• Follow all electrical code, safety, and company standards
• Complete job notes, tracking, invoicing, and documentation through company software
• Support the growth and development of the generator division

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Electrician license required
• Generator installation or service experience preferred
• 1-2+ years of generator experience preferred
• Ability to safely work on residential electrical services
• Generac certification or air-cooled certification is a strong plus
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record 
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening upon a conditional job offer
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Dependable, coachable, and solution-oriented
• Ability to lift equipment/materials and work in residential service environments 

Pay and Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 Employment
• Pay: $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
• IRA with company match

• Schedule: Monday to Friday schedule with occasional overtime opportunities. (Occasional weekend hours may be required based on workload needs.)
