Jr. High Science Teacher

A Jr. High (Middle) School Science Teacher educates students in grades 7-8 by developing engaging, standards-aligned curricula in biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. Key duties include planning lessons, conducting hands-on lab experiments, assessing student progress, managing classroom behavior, and communicating with parents.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum & Instruction: Develop and implement science lesson plans based on state and national standards.
• Lab Management: Plan, prepare, and supervise hands-on experiments and laboratory activities.
• Assessment & Evaluation: Create, administer, and grade tests, quizzes, and assignments to evaluate student learning.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment conducive to learning.
• Collaboration & Communication: Meet with parents, collaborate with colleagues to improve instruction, and participate in professional development.
• Student Support:Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and levels.
• Requirements & Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in science, education, or a related field.
• Certification: State-specific teaching certification/licensure for middle school science.
• Skills: Strong communication, classroom management, and proficiency in, or ability to learn, technology for instruction.
• Physical: Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
