Job Description
A boutique law firm in Uptown Dallas is seeking a Jr. Paralegal/Project Assistant. POSITION SUMMARY: The Jr. Paralegal / Project Assistant, under the supervision and direction of Sr. Paralegals and/or Attorneys, performs substantive tasks that assist our paralegal and attorney teams in preparing for the case or matter at every stage of the litigation process from case inception to completion (initial pleading, factual discovery, expert discovery, pre-trial, trial and post-trial/appellate stages). The projects range from case material compilation to participation at trial. Overtime and travel are required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support to Paralegals and Attorneys.
- Compile, organize and maintain up to date and accessible electronic case files in accordance with established firm protocols.
- Assist with court filings and services, trial preparation, and the preparation, production and organization of legal documents and binders.
- Assist with preparation of materials for depositions, hearings, conferences and/or client meetings.
- Perform manual and electronic searches using external systems and internal databases, as well as assist with management of databases in accordance with firm protocols.
- Coordinate with internal resources and outside vendor services.
- Employ various Firm resources, e.g. ShareFile, Clio Manage, Westlaw.
- Other functions/duties as assigned.
- Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner; meet expectations of billable hours.
- Associates Degree or 3 Years Relevant Experience
- ABA Paralegal Certificate Preferred
- Commitment to work overtime and travel as needed, which maybe be extensive, and may include weekends or holidays, extended periods of time and on short notice.
