Job Description
The Junior Accountant will support the Director of Finance with basic entry level accounting assignments that support overall financial reporting. The Junior Accountant should be detail oriented, highly motivated in advancing his/her career in finance or accounting, and work well in a team setting.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare simple bank and general ledger account reconciliations
- Participate in monthly close reviews
- Assist with implementation and testing of financial software applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve account discrepancies
- Assist with monthly P&L and Balance Sheet account variance analysis
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- Basic knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Basic understanding of data analysis, excellent critical thinking skills, and attention to detail
- Must be well organized and good communication and interpersonal skills
