FULL TIME / HYBRID / SAN DIEGO, CA
REPORTS TO ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR, ART DIRECTION
We’re Raindrop, a creative agency built for brands that want to stand out and create marketing that people love. We’re scrappy, sharp, and slightly obsessive (peep our prop closet). From breakout DTC legends like Dr. Squatch to household names like Native, we help brands grow, scale, and create IMPACT (boom pow).

In this role, you’ll be bringing ideas to life alongside Copy, Social, and Production. From first concept to final frame, you’ll help shape the visual direction across photo and video shoots to ensure quality and accurately capture the creative vision.
You’ll be hands-on in the work, contributing to ideas, building out worlds, and jumping on set to help make it all shine.
THE WORK:
Bring ideas to life
- Contribute to concepting and visual direction across projects
- Help define tone, look & feel, and overall aesthetic direction
- Support wardrobe, set design, and styling decisions
Build and sell the work
- Partner with Copy to create decks and pitch ideas to clients
- Translate ideas into strong mood boards and presentations
- Incorporate feedback from CDs and ACDs to push the work forward
Design for impact
- Help ensure all creatives meet a high standard and deliver on client goals
- Bring fresh thinking and strong design instincts to every brief
Support production
- Identify production design needs and collaborate with producers
- Assist with set design, builds, backdrops, props, and product styling
- Work with photographers to concept and execute photo campaigns
- Jump in on shoot days — helping set up, style, and keep things running smoothly
Requirements
- 1-2 years of art direction experience
- Design background
- Skilled in Adobe CC, particularly in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Experience in Figma or Figjam
- Ability to move over 30 pounds for set dressing and on set days.
- Basic understanding of cinematography and photography.
- Ability to present information consistently and accurately- keen attention to detail
- Must be able to work in-person at our San Diego Production Studio.
- Agency experience is a plus.
