DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY
To assist in the design of new products and improve existing products in accordance with the company’s procedures and protocols
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Design and analyze mechanical systems and assemblies including but not limited to high load structural systems, suspension systems, vehicle chassis, and other powered or manual positioning systems with assistance and guidance from the Research & Development (R&D) teamDevelop, release, and revise mechanical drawings and 3D modelsEnsure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable, and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are metPerform inspections, verification and validation testingMeet and fulfill project timelines and budgetsAssist in continuous improvement of design procedure and protocol to help drive design efficiencyTravel to domestic and international contract manufacturers as needed for product launchesEnsure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents, or injuries are promptly reported to management Complete the Annual CTPAT Security TrainingFocus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectationsPride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessaryREQUIRED SKILLS

At least 1,000 hours or 1 year of equivalent experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detail drawings preferredAt least 1 year of hands-on experience with machining, welding, and fabrication of mechanical assemblies preferredAt least 1 year of hands-on experience in the design, manufacturing, and assembly of fabricated mechanical components and systems preferredAt least 1 year of experience utilizing GD&T preferredCurrent or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferredREQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, OR Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of experience in designing mechanical systems and assembliesPREFERRED EDUCATION
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
