Job Description
Position Summary
The Junior Paralegal role is built for someone early in their legal career who’s ready to learn fast and carry real responsibility from day one. You’ll keep case files moving, support clients through the information-gathering process, and build the legal and financial fluency you need to grow in the profession. Attention to detail isn’t optional here — you’re the person making sure nothing gets missed. Working under the guidance of senior staff, you’ll play a direct role in keeping cases on track and clients feeling supported.
What You’ll Do
- Support client interactions during financial intake interviews, capture the information attorneys need, and keep communication warm, professional, and discreet.
- Log case events, deadlines, and updates in the firm’s case management system so the team always has a current picture of where each matter stands.
- Keep client records — paper and digital — filed, labeled, and easy to locate, in line with firm standards.
- Pull together first-pass summaries of a client’s assets, liabilities, income, and expenses using the firm’s standard templates so attorneys can move straight to analysis.
- Prepare attorney-ready case packets, and circle back with clients to close gaps in documentation before they become a problem.
- Handle the firm’s incoming and outgoing correspondence across mail, email, and fax.
- Jump in on other administrative and case support tasks that keep attorneys and senior paralegals moving.
What We’re Looking For
- Associate’s degree or above.
- Up to two years in a professional office setting — legal, finance, corporate, or healthcare environments are all a plus.
- Strong administrative instincts, a careful eye, and a natural tendency to stay organized.
- Clear, polished communication in writing and in person, with clients and colleagues alike.
- Comfortable with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive), Microsoft Word and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- An appetite for learning the legal and financial side of the work — the terminology, the workflows, the why behind them.
- Able to hold multiple priorities at once in a deadline-driven environment without losing momentum.
Nice to Have
- Paralegal certificate in hand or currently enrolled in a paralegal program.
- Basic literacy with financial paperwork (bank statements, tax returns) or legal vocabulary.
- Prior time spent in a legal support role or inside a case management platform.
How Success Is Measured
- Hit at least 1,200 billable hours per year.
- Assigned cases keep moving in line with firm timelines and standards.
- Clients feel supported and heard every time they interact with you.
- Your documentation and case records hold up to scrutiny.
