Job Description
The Key Fifth is a store leadership position responsible for supporting the Store Director, Assistant Store Director, and department management team in the day-to-day operation of the store. This role provides customer service leadership, supervises associates, ensures compliance with company policies, and serves as a key holder responsible for opening, closing, and securing the store when assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Store Operations
- Assist with daily store operations and ensure company standards are maintained.
- Support store leadership in achieving sales, productivity, and customer service goals.
- Monitor store conditions, merchandising, pricing, and signage accuracy.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized shopping environment.
Leadership and Supervision
- Provide direction and support to store associates.
- Promote a positive work environment through coaching and communication.
- Assist with training new employees on operational procedures and customer service expectations.
- Help ensure associates comply with company policies and safety procedures.
Customer Service
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service.
- Support front-end operations during peak business periods.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Assist in completing required training and compliance programs.
- Support audit readiness and operational compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail grocery experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Leadership and team-building skills.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale system knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Understanding of company policies, cash handling, and safety procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in varying store environments.
