Job Description
Trustbridge Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a customer service oriented Kitchen/Dietary Assistant in Boca Raton to join our vibrant, mission-driven hospice café team. This full-time position works Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
This is not your typical dietary role-you'll be part of a creative, compassionate environment where food, hospitality, and human connection come together to uplift patients and families. From special events to everyday moments of care, this role helps bring comfort, dignity, and joy to those in the final chapters of life while promoting safe, high-quality food practices across our Care Centers. This position plays a vital part in ensuring our programs and services meet regulatory dietary requirements and reflect best practices that benefit our patients, families, and community.
What You'll Do
Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment following food safety and infection control procedures.
Functions as a kitchen steward with food preparation, washing vegetables, assisting with catering orders.
Wash dishes, utensils, and food service equipment using appropriate sanitizing techniques.
Occasionally assemble and deliver patient or resident meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of a cook or dietary supervisor.
Maintain accurate temperature logs for food storage and meal service areas.
Set up and restock food stations, salad bars, or beverage stations as needed.
Follow special diet guidelines including diabetic, low-sodium, gluten-free, or allergy-specific meals.
Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food supplies and inventory.
Provide friendly and respectful service to patients, residents, staff, and visitors.
Follow all facility policies and procedures related to food handling and dietary care.

What You'll Need
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in food service or healthcare settings preferred.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Basic understanding of nutrition, sanitation, and food safety practices (training provided).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25-50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
