Earth Fare Team Members

Kitchen Lead

Contributions

  • Staff Development: Supports Team Lead in coaching, training, and developing Team Members in the Prepared Foods Department. Maintains a positive and professional work environment. Clearly defines and communicates expectations through punch lists and communication logs.
  • Production: Supervises and participates in the production of in-house prepared foods, ensuring proper presentation and display of high-quality, pre-made items. Maintains consistent quality control standards.
  • Operational Tasks: Responsible for ordering and receiving deliveries; scheduling; reviewing daily and weekly sales and movement reports, shrink reports, and emails; responding accordingly; and conducting monthly department inventory.
  • Merchandising: Develops and maintains an attractive sales floor by implementing Earth Fare merchandising guidelines and standards.
  • Department Conditions: Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and overall organization of the department, including all fixtures, storage areas, work stations, freezers, and coolers.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience: Previous experience in prepared foods, kitchen operations, or food service required; leadership or lead experience preferred
  • Knowledge: Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
  • Skills: Strong communication, organization, time management, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership Attributes: Ability to coach, train, and positively influence Team Members while maintaining accountability
  • Commitment to Values: Passion for natural and organic foods and alignment with Earth Fare's mission and values

Physical Demands

  • Lifting: Up to 50 pounds
  • Reaching: Frequent reaching at and above shoulder level and below waist level
  • Standing: Prolonged periods during food preparation and service
  • Pulling/Pushing: Moderate; maneuvering carts, racks, and equipment as needed
  • Works in a fast-paced, production-oriented kitchen and retail environment
  • Exposure to temperature variations, including coolers, freezers, and hot food preparation areas
