Job Summary
We are open to candidates with transferable CNC or fabrication experience and are willing to train the right person.
We are seeking a Laser Programmer / CNC Press Brake Programmer to support daily production in a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role focuses on creating and adjusting programs for laser cutting and press brake equipment to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.
This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on CNC programming experience who is looking to grow their skills, work with modern equipment, and be part of a collaborative manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify CNC programs for laser cutting and press brake machines
- Read and interpret prints, drawings, and work orders
- Assist with part nesting to improve material usage and reduce scrap
- Select basic tooling and bend sequences with support from leads or engineering
- Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve part or setup issues
- Support machine setup and troubleshooting as needed
- Verify first-piece quality and make adjustments when required
- Maintain organized program files and basic documentation
- Follow all safety, quality, and shop procedures
Required Qualifications
- Experience with CNC laser programming and/or CNC press brake programming
- Ability to read blueprints and basic CAD drawings
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication concepts
- Experience with programming software such as TruTops, BySoft, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred (Not Required)
- 1–2 years of CNC programming experience
- Exposure to Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, or similar equipment
- Experience with nesting software
- Basic understanding of bend allowances and material types
- Manufacturing or fabrication shop experience
Work Environment
- Fabrication/manufacturing facility
- Standing and walking throughout the shift
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to production equipment and normal shop noise
