Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator / Programmer to support production in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced in CNC or laser operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines to cut and engrave materials according to specifications
- Program and optimize laser cutting processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on laser equipment
- Select and adjust materials as needed for production runs
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job specifications
- Maintain standard work procedures and production flow
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and 5S activities
- Follow all quality system policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Complete required production and quality documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC programming or laser operation experience
- Ability to operate laser cutting machinery
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency with tape measures and calipers
- Ability to convert fractions to decimals
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required
