Job Description
Overview: The Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (LAE) Department Student Employee will assist in the college's Drone Certificate Program by providing faculty and student support. The student employee will assist with practical training and instruction. The student employee will also assist with drone product research, maintenance and course development. Other assignments will be given that can include assisting with LAE departmental activities that include open houses, informational sessions and expositions.
Campus Location: Des Plaines
Length of Employment: Spring 2025, January 2026- May 2026, with opportunity to renew.

Hours available: Monday & Wednesday: 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm.
Schedule flexibility: Student scheduled will fluctuate based on what assignments are accepted/refused.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities (TDRs) and Learning Outcomes:
- Perform assignments as described in the terms outlined by the supervisor and faculty. (PF)
- Communicate with faculty and supervisor regarding any challenges or issues that arise during each assignment and collaborate with staff in finding resolutions. (CT, PS, OC)
- Provide resources and assistance to faculty and students based on individual needs. ( GF, PS, LD)
- Participate in monthly check-ins when not already placed in an assignment and attend departmental meetings (WC)
- Complete other projects as assigned. (PF)
Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities (KSOAs)
- Must be currently enrolled at Oakton College in the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (LAE) program with at least 3 credit hours each semester (fall/spring) excluding the summer term.
- Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton College.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Able to sit and stand for an extended periods of time.
- Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.
- Friendly, flexible, organized, courteous, and punctuality a must.
- Exceptional Communication and organizational skills with strong detail orientation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Able to work evenings and occasional weekend hours.
- FAA Part - 107 FAA license preferred.
