TheLaw SchoolSummer Associate position is afull-time, paidinternship consultingstaff rolefor candidateswhoarecurrentlyenrolledin a Juris Doctor programas first or second year students.This rolewill support BRG’s Healthcare Governance, Compliance, and Ethicsteam andthe firm’sPrivacy and Data Protection team.Subject to the Summer Associate’sperformance,anddepending on theiranticipatedgraduation date, the Law School Summer Associatemaybeconsideredforadditionalinternship opportunities or full-time employment.

WhatYou’llDo

The LawSchool SummerAssociate will supportteams thatoftenassistclients with compliance, business process improvement, and strategicconsulting. Your role will be dynamic, requiring analytical problem-solving, creative thinking, andeffectivecollaboration. As you progress in your career at BRG, you will refine yourexpertiseand may specialize in areas that align with your strengths and interests.

Your work may include analyzingstatutes, regulations, and related guidance documents; drafting research memoranda; developing client presentation materials;drafting orrevising policies and procedures;detectingkey trends inenforcement data; creating training and education materials; drafting negotiation playbooks;participating in strategy sessions with experts; and contributing to thought leadership initiatives.Yourwork may also involve:

  • ConductingIn-DepthResearch:Gather information fromstatutes, regulations, and administrative rules;agency guidancedocuments;industry reports;and academic sources to develop well-supported recommendations.

  • DevelopingClientMaterials:Create clear, impactful reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findingsand recommendationsto clients and stakeholders.

  • Collaborating& Problem-Solving:Work in a team-driven environment, applying critical thinking to complex business problems and developing creative solutions to clearly communicateconcepts,findings,andrecommendations.

  • EngagingwithBRGExperts & Clients:Interact with senior staff, subject matter experts, and clients to refine analyses and present recommendations.

  • Organization & Self-Management: Develop andmaintainelectronic databases, spreadsheets and other files as dictated by projectneedsto manage your work scope and communicate critical updates to clients and stakeholders.

  • Quality & Precision:Reviewyour own work and that of teammates to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality execution.

Who You Are

We’relooking foranalyticalproblem-solverswith strongverbal and writtencommunication skills from diverse academic and professional backgroundswho are eager to take on challenges and thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.Successful applicantsshoulddemonstratean interest inthe healthcare industrythroughpreviousacademicorprofessional experience, or a combination of the two.Other desired attributed include:

  • Education:Progression towards aJuris Doctor degree.Outstanding academic achievement anddemonstratedinterest(e.g.,throughcoursework, job experience, orextracurriculars) in health law, compliance and ethics,and/or data privacyare highly desirable.

  • Experience:0-2 years of work experience, including internships.

  • Technical Skills:ExperiencewithMicrosoftWord and PowerPointis; experience withMicrosoftExcel,Teams,and Copilot(oranother artificial intelligence large language model)is highly desirable. The willingness and interest to expand into these capabilities isa must.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset:Ability to structure ambiguous challenges, analyzelegal obligations and relatedagencyguidance, and develop actionable insights.

  • Collaboration & Communication:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to different audiences.

  • Adaptability & Initiative:Thrives in a dynamic work environment, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.

Salary Range:$35-55/hour

Location:The Law SchoolSummer Associateroleis based inBRG’s Washington, DCoffice andistoworkwith colleagues in the office 3-4 days per week on average. 

Candidate must be able tosubmitverification of his/her legal right to work in the United States, without company sponsorship now or in the future.

This job will remain open untilthepositionisfilledand resumes willbe reviewedfor consideration during the Spring recruiting cycle.
