LCSW Social Worker Lead- Behavioral Health Danbury Hospital 

Summary:

The Social Worker Lead will provide clinical guidance and supervision to other clinicians and students, including support with caseloads, and professional development. Monitor documentation, ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, educating to documentation standards and track performance metrics. Additionally, the social worker lead will collaborate with management to support the development of the program.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides oversight, supervision, training and guidance to LMSW�s, LPCA's, LCSW's, LPC's and students in assigned clinical program(s).

2. Conducts chart audits to ensure that documentation is in accordance with CMS and other regulatory entities and maintains the same level of documentation standards

3. Conducts initial assessments/intakes with the individual/family to establish therapeutic relationship and gather critical information necessary for treatment.

4. Conducts clinical evaluations, crisis intervention evaluations and risk assessments in emergency situations - and coordinates appropriate interventions, safety plans and referral to a higher level of care.

5. Provides psychoeducation, crisis intervention services, individual, family, couples and group therapy sessions aimed at supporting patients in maintaining stability within their homes and communities while promoting improved mental health.

6. Collaborates in establishing treatment goals in treatment plans by developing individualized, recovery-focused care plans to guide disposition or referral.

7. Maintains current knowledge of, utilizes and applies evidence-based therapeutic practices, and treatment modalities.

8. Proficiency in clinical reasoning and diagnosis formulation.

9. Supports the planning and implementation of clinical program initiatives.

10. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of local community resources and routinely connects patients and families with appropriate agencies for continued support.

11. Collaborates with the department manager/supervisor on the design, development, and ongoing revision of curricula for all assigned clinical programs.

12. Works closely with the department team, financial counselor, clerical staff, and third-party payers to ensure reimbursement for clinical services provided.

13. Maintains and Models Organizations Health Values.

14. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

15. Performs other duties as required.

Education Skills Experience:

Required three to five years of experience as an LCSW.

Must have prior experience leading, supervising or coordinating the work of clinical staff.

Prefer: Certification or specialized in an evidence-based intervention (CBT, DBT, EMDR).

Possess leadership skills which include communication, emotional intelligence, and relationship building.
