The Patient Experience Product Group within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Technology partners closely with the Patient Experience & Customer Solutions (PECS) business to enable and operate the technology that supports Patient Support Programs and endtoend patient services. Our work focuses on ensuring that patient, provider, and customer interactions across access, affordability, enrollment, fulfillment, and ongoing support are reliable, scalable, and seamless. We collaborate directly with PECS program teams to translate business and patient needs into integrated digital platforms, operational tools, and workflows that enable program execution and continuous improvement. In close partnership with JJIMT and PECS stakeholders, we deliver and evolve futureready capabilities that strengthen program operations, enhance patient and healthcare professional experiences, support compliance and quality, and ultimately improve access, continuity of care, and patient outcomes.

Purpose:

The Lead, Patient Experience Platforms role blends technical product ownership with hands-on engineering, focused on delivering commercial solutions which transform Patient Support Program operations while maintaining a reliable, compliant, and secure environment. This position will have specific responsibilities as an IT Product lead with strong technical skills, accountable for platform operations for PECS across the broader technology ecosystem (applications, integrations, data/AI services, vendor-operated components, and enabling platforms). The IT lead will collaborate with IT peers, external vendors, data aggregator partners, Business Product Owners, Technology Services, and Finance teams to ensure solutions not only deliver business value, but are operationally resilient, supportable, and secure-by-design.

You will be responsible for:

Product Management:

  • Own operational accountability for PECS platforms, including availability, reliability, performance, and supportability.
  • Ensure all solutions meet defined operational readiness criteria prior to release, including support models, runbooks, escalation paths, and operational KPIs.
  • Partner with Technology Services and vendors to ensure consistent run and support execution across environments.
  • Ensure security, privacy, and compliance requirements are embedded throughout the solution lifecycle, not treated as postdelivery activities.
  • Define and enforce observability standards across PECS solutions.
  • Be accountable for incident readiness and response for PECS platforms.

People & Organizational Leadership:

  • Cultivate collaborative, healthy, inclusive, and credo-based culture of highly engaged, robust teams by modeling credo values, valuing diverse perspectives, with high touch approach to employee talent and development.
  • Demonstrate success in leading multiple cross-function self-organized teams.
  • Introduce bold ideas that challenge thinking and ways of working.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent field of study.
  • Strong stakeholder partnership skills across Business Product Owners, Technology Services, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience owning vision, roadmap, and backlog prioritization for a product/platform and translating business needs into prioritized user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience operating a production platform/ecosystem (multiple applications, integrations, data/AI services, and vendor components) with accountability for availability, reliability, and service performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure solutions meet security, privacy, and compliance standards across the delivery lifecycle (requirements → design → build → run).
  • Working knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts (least privilege, authentication/authorization patterns, access controls) and ability to partner effectively with enterprise security stakeholders to ensure controls are implemented.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and remove delivery blockers through agile ways of working (ceremonies, metrics, release burnup/burndown or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical and operational decisions to business and technical audiences; ability to support governance reviews.

Preferred:

  • Pharmaceutical or Life sciences/health care industry experience.
  • Leads with accountability, transparency, and collaboration.
  • A track record of partnering closely with business product leaders to translate real operational needs into technology solutions.
  • Experience partnering with security and risk teams, while still retaining ownership for secure outcomes.
  • Experience managing external vendors and partners as true extensions of the platform team.
  • Agile development experience, SDLC methodology, risk management including information security and solid understanding of JIRA.
